Second wife of Ptolemy I Soter and mother to Ptolemy II Philadelphus and Arsinoe II. First she was mistress of Ptolemy I, who then married her after repudiating and divorcing his queen Eurydice, daughter of Antipater. Berenice died in 279 BC.
