Son of Lagus and Arsinoe. His first wife was Eurydice, daughter of Antipater, and Berenice was his second wife. With Berenice he had four children, among whom Arsinoe II and Ptolemy II Philadelphus. The latter succeeded him to the throne of Egypt after his death, in 283 BC.
