The research and writing of
this presentation were carried out by:
- Olga Katsiardi-Hering
Olga Katsiardi-Hering is a Professor of the "History of
modern Hellenism from the fall of Constantinople until
the War of Greek Independence of 1821" in the
History and Archaeology Section of the Philosophy School
of the Athens University. She is occupied in the following
research fields:
the history of the Greek colonies,
the economy of the Greeks during Ottoman rule, the history of the
cities and families. Works of Olga Katsiardi-Hering have been
published in international scientific periodicals.
Some of her books are "I Elliniki paroikia tis Terghestis (1751-1830)",
Athens 1986, v. A'-B', "Lismonimenoi orizontes Ellinon emporon" and
"To panigyri sti Senigallia (18os- arches 19ou aiona), Athens, 1989.
- Giannis Kolovos
Giannis Kolovos studied History and Archaeology
in the Philosophy School of the University of Athens
and International History in the London School of Economics and
Political Sciences of London.
He is a PhD candidate for the Philosophy School.
Works of Giannis Kolovos have been published in scientific periodicals
and on the Internet, in the magazines "Oxy", "Metro", "Downtown",
and in the newspaper "To Vima".
He is in charge of the series "Proion Irodotos"
of the "Oxy" publications.
- Maria Papathanasiou
Maria Papathanasiou studied History and Archaeology in
the Philosophy School of the Athens University
and International History in the London School of Economics
and Political Science of the London University.
She is a Doctor of History in the Institute of
Social and Economic History of the University of Vienna.
She has participated in scientific programs and
meetings in Greece and abroad. One of her works
is: "Zwischen Arbeiten, Spiel und Schule. Die oekonomische Funktion
der Kinder aermerer Schichten in Oesterreich, 1880-1939", Wien, Muenchen,
1999.
- Domna Paschalidou
Domna Paschalidou studied History and Archaeology in the
Philosophy School of the Athens University,
while during the school year 1998-99 she won a scholarship to
the University of Vienna. From 1997 she does post-graduate studies
specializing in Recent and Modern Greek History in the
Philosophy school of the Athens University.
Her research interests involve mainly social history subjects and
historical anthropology as well as subjects related to
the history of the Hellenism of the Greek colonies
under Ottoman rule. Domna Pachalidou has participated in
the research program of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (E.I.E)
"Thesmoi kai Ideologia sti Neoelliniki Koinonia,
15os-19os aionas" and has published articles in the periodical "Diachronia".
