On Thursday 31 May 2001 at the Athens Concert Hall an event took place for the award of the best students of secondary education schools of Athens by the Municipality of Athens.
In the "Friends of Music Hall", which was packed with students and parents, Mr Dimitris Efraimoglou, Managing Director of the Foundation of the Hellenic World, spoke about FHW's activities and productions in their whole and presented the programmes of the Cultural Centre "Hellenic Cosmos". Then, Mr Anthony Levendis, a FHW historian, referred extensively to the programme "Hellenic History on the Internet" and to the series "Theodoros. In the Footsteps of a 10th century Monk" and Mr Nikos Varsos, Head of the Multimedia Department of FHW, provided information about the CD-ROM "Mystery in Ancient Miletus".
After the Foundation's members, the Mayor of Athens Mr Dimitris Avramopoulos took the stand, congratulated warmly the students for their effort and advised them, on the long road that lies ahead of them, to follow their conscience and to do what they really desire.
The event came to an end with a concert of the Philharmonic of Athens.
