The exhibition "Education 2001" took place for the third year at Stadium of Peace and Friendship from 8 to 11 March 2001. The exhibition -which is international- was organised by the Europartners Company and dealt with in all the levels of education. In the event participated, among others, the European Committee, the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs with the Pedagogical Institute and the General Secretariat for the Youth, Greek and foreign highest and higher educational institutes, foreign institutes which have departments in Greece and publishing houses.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World participated in the exhibition with a kiosk which was provided by the organisers, presenting its programmes and events. Specifically, the visitors had the opportunity to see the Internet site of the Foundation, to watch one of its film productions and to learn about its printed and electronic publications.
About 25.000 people -students, teachers and parents- visited the exhibition and most of them also visit FHW's kiosk. Among them the Mayor of Athens Mr Dimitris Avramopoulos, who learned about the Foundation's work and talked with Mr Lazaros Efraimoglou for some time.
The exhibition "Education 2001" hosted two events about Employment and the European Year of Languages 2001. During these four days were also organised three colloquiums entitled: "European Year of Studies", "The Instruments of Information in Education" and "Education-Carrer". On 10 March, in the framework of the colloquium "The Instruments of Information in Education", Mr Dimitris Efraimoglou, Managing Director of FHW, referred to the progtrammes of the Foundation and the use of new technologies for educational purposes.
