Ayvali:
On 16 May 1919 a unit of the Greek army landed and captured Ayvali (Kydonies).
Smyrna:
On 2 May 1919 a division of the Greek army landed in Smyrna. It has been received with enthusiasm by the Christian population, while the reaction of the Muslims led to bloody clashes.
Aydin:
On 14 May 1919 a unit of the Greek army captured the city of Aydin. The Turkish troops captured the city on 19 June, without however being able to hold it. The counter-offensive of the Greek army consolidated the Greek supremacy in Aydin on 20 of that same month. During their withdrawal, the Turks engaged in extensive burnings, massacres and kidnappings of the Christians of the city.
