The book "After the Catastrophe: Asia Minor Refugees in Greece in the Interwar Period" is a collective publication by FHW, which was published under the auspices of the Hellenic Parliament and presents in a documented and easy to understand way the presence of the Asia Minor refugees in Greece in the period between the two World Wars. The books analyzes the measures taken by the Greek state for the relief of the refugees, examines their social and political presence and activity and presents the ways through which the refugees cultivated their own particular identity and historical memory. The work comes to an end with a visual chapter regarding the international dimensions of the issue of the refugees in the 20th century.

The book is not addressed solely to specialized scientists, but also to the wide public. Its objective was to present to the reader the hardships, efforts and hopes of the Greek refugees in that period, while our aim was to contribute to the effort of transforming historical memory into knowledge about the past and into critical thinking regarding the present and future.
