The second book of the series "Popular fairytales and story-tellers from Asia Minor" includes the fairy tales "The Magic Ring" and "The king with the three daughters and the king with the three sons", which travel us to Sparta of Pisidia.

In the first book, Mr Nikos Simeonidis conveys to us through oral narration the history of a poor farmer, who thanks to a magic ring obtained a gold horse and a gold costume. In the second fairy tale, which was narrated by Mrs Soussana Fotoglou-Kosmaidou, a king with only male children, three sons, mocked another king who had only female children, three daughters. Then, the little girl of the second king, disguised into a boy, after a series of adventures, proved that the girls are as worthy as boys are.

The fairy tales are accompanied by information about the history of Pisidia. The journey into the past commenced from the Antiquity and the first references to the area that can be found in the writings of Xenophon and Herodotus, then continued to the Roman Period -during which the cities of Pisidia flourished both financially and culturally- and the Byzantine Period, to end up in the modern era, with more important events the Asia Minor Catastrophe, the prosecutions and the settlement in Greece. The text is accompanied by photographic material, which reveals Pisidia of the past and the present.
