Athens Fringe Festival From the 16th to the 20th June 2010 Building 56 of Hellenic Cosmos hosted the events of the second Athens Fringe Festival. The festival, which follows in the footsteps of the respective one in Edinburgh, took place in public areas of Athens with the participation of more than 180 teams and over 800 artists and activists. It included seminars and activities specially designed for children, plays, musical happenings and exhibitions.
The festival resembles networks like Facebook and myspace, with the difference that the user-visitor is invited to "surf" but to walk on its paths. Its participatory character, the volunteers, the fact that people and groups undertake initiatives in all the stages of the festival transform Fringe into a true fair that is addressed to all creative people of the city and attempts to bring them all together!
