1906, Larissa: deed for the lease of animals.

In Larissa today the fifteenth October 1906 Sunday in the office which I own in one of the courtyard workshops of Konstantinos Manassiotis, before me the notary and inhabitant of Larissa Efstratios Georgiadis residing hither in the presence of the below-mentioned witnesses Konstantinos Foloros bailiff and Nikolaos Anastasopoulos scribe inhabitants of Larissa, adult Greek citizens acquaintances of mine and not related in any way whatsoever to myself and the witnesses, appeared the acquaintances of mine and not related in any way whatsoever to me and the witnesses on the one hand Mr Antonios Papatriantafyllou, landowner inhabitant of Kanalia of the deme of Voivi, on the other hand Antonios Lagos farmer inhabitant of Kritsilar, who stipulated and accepted the following:

Namely the former leased today to the latter the following animals of his full possession and property namely: a) a yellow-brown ox eight years of age b) another ox with black patches ten years of age c) another white, crestes ox eight years of age d) another ox of honey-beige and grey colour ten years of age e) a young white, crested bull six years of age f) a black donkey eight years of age; the lease beginning today and terminating the fifteenth of August 1907 against the overall lease of Drachmas 150 which the lessor received by the lessee paid to him as stipulated before me and the witnesses and under the following terms:

1) The lessee is obliged to feed on his own expenses the above-mentioned animals throughtout the period of the present lease; 2) Any hazard concerning the above-mentioned animals burdens the lessee obliged in this case to compensate the lessor. 3) The lessor is entitled at any time of the period of the lease to remove the above-mentioned animals from the lessee and in the event the latter refuses they will be violently removed by force of the present document declared enforceable without any mediation and any warning whatsoever. 4) Upon the termination of the lease the lessee is obliged to deliver the animals to the former safe and sound the way he had received them otherwise these will be violently removed from him under the above-mentioned terms.

The latter accepted the present lease under the above-mentioned terms and received the use as of today of the above-mentioned animals. Agreed and ... (illegible text)."
